The conclusion ( ._.)
the conclusion.. well short as possible..
AMAZING!
i really enjoyed this pproject, the sculpting was fun and a new experiance working in a group has trouble but still nice to hear oeopels opinions and has people all contibuting to one thing. if this project is a project reflects the future ones this year will be amazing, looking forward to Z-Brush project, okay i should make a better conclusion..
Bad: I would have liked this project to last longer and be deeper, within a larger time frame we could have made the next monopoly! or chess! When we had team members doing well nothing, the work wasnt evenly given out, this wasnt beause of greedy or anything but some members wouldnt be able to explain the game while others couldsay it without ever going 'erm' the effort from everyone wasnt the same.
Good: sculpting! although i previously moaned about the team it was extremel;y helpful for instant feedback and improvments and having everyone focused one different set goal and being able to bounce around. it allowed me to see it all come together. I also really liked it being tested on the final day, peoples reactions made it feel that much better and proud of our work.
AMAZING PROJECT!
Logo designs
i went through a design proccess for the logos on the board. here is that proccess.
here is the 'IdeaSpam' where i draw as much as beleive is nessessary and compare create from exsisting or choice one already there. As you can see not every one has the same number that is because attempting to be unique closed alot out and also how relevant they are to the characters. RAnge is the only one that has one, this is because of it being my character and ive choosen to stick with this one.
here is a list of what they are all for.
Heal - tree, moon, remix of heal 'plus.
Melee - reaper scythe, thick sword, ninja star, lightening bolt in circle, thin sword with material curling around.
Tank - Tank (der), muscle arm.
Magic - dove, star, top hat, beam.
Range - arrow.
here are the ones that have been picked at the end of it.
and here are the final ones.
A day of success!
friday was success, i didnt beleive the environment to be as 'casual' as it was being able to joke and entertain while they are playing the game, and i was going to come in my good shirt! I believed that the day was also good because of the feedback which has already been posted. there wasnt a rating lower then 7, which i believe is good, if i remember correctly the average score out of 10 was 9 which i am proud of. it was nice to read and see exactly how people player and the tactics used by people doing things people who created the game wouldnt have thought of. Also seeing people enjoying the game was extremely goood. Although i will say it was diffucult explaining our complex strategy game without overflowing with information but getting the essentials out. Within the day I was the 'referee' for every game played, what that title includes is to calculate the damage done for all 5 characters while informing them of when each utilites and also correcting them on any mistakes made. I was having people ask me how much health people has left right after the attack which meant i had to work quick, at times i got help from people like Daniel and Ameet but not consistantly. It was fun to watch me say who has the most health and everyone only attack them until someone else was in the lead; in one game about 5 turns into the game someone has 2 our of 100 health remaining and won because everyone ganged up on the person with the most HP and another time until 3 turns from the end of a like 20-35 minute game took damage in the last 3 turns and until then wasnt hit once throughout the whole game. Through playing we found out we didnt use are .UtilityNotification> which was a board that rotated showing an annonimus trap has been set. the day was very benifical as it shown errors and what could have been added and what wasnt, the main problem was figures falling over, constantly figues were falling over like domino knocking it all, having a more blanaced character and base would have helped and we also needed a bigger board as when the characters were close they where touching eachother making more fall over when you moved your piece.
The sculpting conclusion..
the sculpting has finished! now i will firstly say from what i done after this i am not proud of, i had to rush to help my team with all the other things that had to be done as i believed we had the weekend to do the the work we had planned. so in the morning i was told that there was no more green stuff, and we had to use the 'magicsculpt' and after attempting with the magic scuplt i saw drew bring the green stuff in, at first i found it hard but eventually i was okay again, i rushed the other arm making it too large and also the bow not paying any attention to the detail. although it still looks 'good enough' i wanted it to look better and once again time was against me. Here is the model.
Battle cards final!
here are the final battlecards! only 3 will be shown out of 5 because one has already been created and the other one had problems with the image in the top right corner and was added on the friday before the first set of customers, which means i done have it digitally, but here are the ones i currently have!
Edit: Ive left my usb a college but have camera photos of all the cards.
Attack names!
Here are the names for the attacks of each of the characters and also the utilities. we attempted to keep a theme between the names and also relevance to the characters themself, e.g. 'shank' for Ameet's character K1's primary attack.
Final board
Here is the final board! this is what was printed and stuck onto the foam bloack board to create the playing board. there are coordinates on each hexagon which is used for the utility #1. the board originally didnt have the light transparent hexagons in the middle, this was put on to make it appear more simple, what we was aiming forwas 'sexy but simple' and I believe the battle cards and board reflect this. the logos was done around the outside by me, originally they didnt have a theme running through the whole of them and was hard to make out what went to what but with this new one it is more simple and clear, although everything else other than the logos was done by jasdev.
Greatness has no limits!
Okay do from what I know we are meant to work on a booklet to
Explain our game, well as the makers of Ceija are well GREAT!
We are going to make a video to explain the game other than a booklet or card, this is was gonna be done in our own time between me and Jasdev, unfortunately we found out that it was Friday when it has to be gave in so we had to rush, I done other things we still needed while Jasdev done the video, originally it was going to be put onto my iPad but time was against us, we then decided to show the video from jasdevs laptop but his sound port was broken and the audio came out really bad, also the time strain make the video a lower quality then originally planned, for a few of the games on the day we played the video but also explained over the top of it because there was no audio. Throughout the day we stopped playing the video as it didn't aid the explanation. We tried to be just that much better but unfortunately the timing wasn't on our side.

Name correction
I recently found out that I was misspelling Ishy's name. So I feel like I should post that whenever I put 'Ishmale' the correct spelling was 'Ishmael' from this post on if/when Ishy is mentioned the correct spelling will be used.
The sculpting continues 7..
Here if what it looks like after I attached the head to the body, I previously knew it was going to be a problem as you could see how the collar was too long making the neck look long as well. I had to twist the head off the stick and use more epoxy to attach it into place. This is what it now looks like although I need to work more on the blending of the neck.
The sculpting continues 6..
Within this post I will go over the head and give it hair, I want to add detail to the face but wasn't sure on how to go about it. So I created the hair first, its intended to look like a 'bowl' haircut. I believe this was successful, to attempt to give the effect of hair over it being headwear I tried to show the hair definition and scalp, as you know constantly combing hair it can leave you with a bold or thinner hair patch, I attempted to do this as well; creating a patch and all the hair 'flowing' form that area, here are the photos of it.
The sculpting continues 5..
Today at college the sculpting continued (as the title suggests), I decided to start with creating the arm which will be extended holding the bow. I found this hard because when I first started using it I found it difficult to get started and get the correct shape of the arm, later after more sculpting and treating the creases in the clothing on the arm if started to fall apart and wouldnt hold together, and constant touching made the creases constantly have to be touched up. Eventually I had to restart the arm completely, recut the wire and continue the sculpt. After I successfully made the arm I created the hand, I believe I could have put more effort into this but still have a good result and am proud of the working the arms finished project.

Battle card update
Here is the update of the battle card, this is still in progress and still has work to be done but Jasdev will be working and when the final thing or next milestone is done it will be uploaded to here.
Watermark
Outside of college Jasdev has created a unique watermark which will go on boards, cards & anything specific to the game itself. Here is that watermark.
Battle cards
On a previous post in the 'game rules?!' I spoke about how each of the players will have their own player card which was an idea raised by Ishy. After this Jasdev created a start to work from; this is what was created.
After this we explained on how there was a lack of information and a more digital theme would suit more, on this day I bought my iPad in for this purpose and me and Jasdev sat down and created the template, here is what we achieved!
The centre is the battle menu and each segment is the battle menu description specific to each character e.g. The top left on the centre battle menu is attack so within that box there will be the track names damage and description the top left of the card will show the name and the small box beside it will be an image of the archetype that it belongs to. Top right will be a image of the character that the card is relevant to. There will be boxes above a large boxes which will show the name so this isn't confusing. The bottom left will show the Pixel logo and the bottom right will be the watermark for the game.

C.E.I.J.A
The other day I was informed of the name of our game! CEIJA! This was created by Ishmale and Jasdev over Xbox live, this name is prenounced as..
[Kay-sha]
The idea they came up with is an anagram of the letters of our names:
C - Connan
E - Ejay
I - Ishmale
J - Jasdev
A - Ameet
I like this name as it is creative yet simple, when the idea was first said "we have an anagram of our names" I was slightly worried but the outcome was instantly liked.

The sculpting continues 4..
Here is the most recent version of my model, he has a buttoned shirt wit colour and both shoes on (although he first photo only has one) I like how it has come out although I need to add a lot more detail again as constantly touching it has worn out most of the detail, also I don't like the feet at all and feel as if I rushed so would like to remove them and do then again, other then that I am happy with the piece and hope to improve it with arms a head and a bow. Also the base for my head has been sculpted and is in the last 2 photos but hasn't had any detail or personal features added of now.
The sculpting continues 3..
Here is after both the legs have been done, both the legs have creased in and am proud of what it looks like.
The sculpting continues 2..
Here is after I done one leg, I was worried about how to be able to do the creases in the legs, although this ended up being easy. Here is how it went.
The sculpting continues..
Okay now today we had a MAD sculpt-off, for the whole day just flat out sculpting, thoughout I took photos to put in the blog for a progress update, here is the first 'milestone'.
Here you can see I have done the legs, trying to make them still look large but keep the form of human legs, you can see I've also made the but, so far I am happy with the work that is being produced and hasn't had anything too challenging except for the chest.

First sculpting attempt!
Now let's gets right to it, today we started our sculpting on the models, first we had to do a wire frame, which we was shown by Drew how to do it. After the wire was done we had to cover it in expoy putty, I'm glad I was able to do this quite easily although I found it hard to create the right shape for the body as I tried to make him 'larger', giving him man-boobs wasn't easy either as it was mistaken for a women, at the end of the first day this is the progression I had.

Battle Menu Stats
Each character has 2 attacks, there primary attack and there secondary attack. Each characters secondary attack has a special ability which makes them more unique (except for the range as there primary attack is what is special).
HP is the
amount of damage that each character can take before they are killed.
Below I
will explain the use of each utility.
Each character can move around the board, the table below shows the movement of each character.

Utility #1 - This category of utility is
used as a 'trap' where you set a secret trap on a random square. This is done
when this utility is activated you draw a card, and in that card it will have a
coordinate which will be where your characters specific trap will be, nobody
else sees your card. On the side of the board there are 5 'O' and when you have
set your trap you turn it over to show the 'X'. Only 1 trap per character can
be placed and is not effected by the damage mod.
Utility #2 - This utility is used to
effect your special move on your character.
Anti-Chase - This utility comes into
play when you are being chased, This is used to give you a movement advantage
so the chase won't continue.
